Happens with my 20D, no issue as far as I can see ;)
(as in, rotates with the wheel)

Mine too :D

Good grief. The things that occupy people's minds! I had to check mine as a result and yes, the SET button moves on the 5D. It also moves on my 20D. And I've lived in blissful ignorance of this until now! What next?

And now you won't be able to sleep at night.

I can't even begin to imagine how many people would be sending their cameras back if someone posted that their button didn't rotate... :D

Since my "Set" letters are worn off on both my cameras, I think I'll start painting them back on every night. That way I can watch them twirl every day:)!

The obsessive-compulsive among us routinely roll it back to an upright position once the camera's shut off, though..

LOL... i think i have OCD... i take it a step further... if the SET button is not horizontal after switch off, i do not just turn the wheel back... i specifically ONLY move the SET cap till it is perfect!!!

someone get me a doctor! LOL

It's become obvous that we all must get our camera to turn in order to keep proper alignment with the Set button.

To get your camera to turn properly you must buy the proper equipment. Preferably, you should buy a sturdy tripod and a big heavy "L" telephoto lens with a tripod mount and a rotating collar for the camera. This equipment may seem extravagant, but it is needed to combat the infamous "wobblies" that will plague you if you use lesser equipment. If you mount the "L assembly" on the tripod, then the camera to the L assembly, loosen the collar, you will be happy to turn your camera smoothly and steadily until your Set button is positioned correctly!

Hope this helps everyone -- B&H should have all the equipment you need!

:)

Gosh I don't know, maybe try a net search for "camera moving assembly" uk? I imagine that by now you can get a whole kit, including the L, for less than 5000USD. Just have to watch out for the inferior stuff.

Or sell them cheap and wait for the 6D.

They'll have the problem fixed by then.
