Where to buy Canon i Europe?

Hello all,
I want to go for Canon 40D and I am located in Poland. I checked our price for this camera and it is 500 USD higher then in USA for example considering that you have to pay 1299 USD for a body only in US.
I could get it from US, but here in Poland they will not support an International warranty from US. I need to have the European one. That leaves me with either paying 1800 USD for a body only in Poland or try to find a way of getting it cheaper somewhere else in Europe.

Do you have any advise/experience?

Thanks. I would assume that the price is the same as in US but in EURO, correct and that would make it 30 more expensive, same as in Poland
