Hiya guys!

When I got my 5D last week I noticed that the buffer number was "9" in the viewfinder. I bursted on a 4GB Extreme IV card at ISO 100 with no custom functions turned on, and I could take 9 shots. I was a bit disappointed, but believed I could live with it.

I didn't try it again until today, set the camera to ISO 1600 with a bunch of custom functions turned on, I saw "9" in the viewfinder but I could 19 shots. Everything what I'm talking about is Raw files.

So, should the camera be like this or has it got a bit of a humour and is just teasing me? :)

Thanks in advance,

Aero

PS: Of course I won't use the burst of the 5D, I'm just checking. :D

Um...If I remember correctly, it's been a while since I read the manual, I think it says that it will display a 9 if the buffer can take more than 9 shots. It then starts to count down when your buffer starts to fill up.

While since you read the manual? Haha, I beat you, I haven't read the manual of my 5D, and not my 20D either. :-P

But thanks for your reply - it does make sense.

Regards,
Aero :)

PS: But what explains the 19 shot buffer? :D

The manual does.

Well, isn't it odd if all spec.'s say that the buffer is the 17 shots but the manual says it's 19, isn't it? Checking nevertheless....
