I tried but overdid it and could see shadows not lining up. I had limited time to experiment as the wife was making dinner. Canon 5D Mark II - Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L - Canon EF 135mm f/2L

Thanks for the tip. ![]() a moderately sized softbox could help with the shadows being odd. something like a simple 24" setup. you could make one out of carboard with tinfoil on the inside of it, to reflect better, with some tracing paper to cover the face. I did that as my first softbox and it worked well, lol. cost me next to nothing and allowed me to play around with a modifier. --Bone | FSS

I ended up picking up some shoot through umbrellas and stands from B&H but I think the next purchase is going to be a Cheetah Qbox 24. I was just too pressed for time to grab the umbrellas (read, I forgot them at home Canon 5D Mark II - Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L - Canon EF 135mm f/2L

I recently did that to myself on the way to a paid shoot the other day. I've actaully started to make myself a check list of all my gear so that I can confirm that everything is in the car that I want when I'm on my way to a location. lol. --Bone | FSS
