you could try putting the shutter to an extended opening like 10 seconds or something and hand hold the flash and fire it manually from different positions. it might make for an interesting but more even light.

I tried but overdid it and could see shadows not lining up. I had limited time to experiment as the wife was making dinner. Definitely something I'm going to delve into a little more though. Thanks for the tip. :D

a moderately sized softbox could help with the shadows being odd. something like a simple 24" setup. you could make one out of carboard with tinfoil on the inside of it, to reflect better, with some tracing paper to cover the face. I did that as my first softbox and it worked well, lol. cost me next to nothing and allowed me to play around with a modifier.

I ended up picking up some shoot through umbrellas and stands from B&H but I think the next purchase is going to be a Cheetah Qbox 24. I was just too pressed for time to grab the umbrellas (read, I forgot them at home :o:lol:).

lol, I can completely understand that one. I recently did that to myself on the way to a paid shoot the other day. I've actaully started to make myself a check list of all my gear so that I can confirm that everything is in the car that I want when I'm on my way to a location. lol.

That's probably a pretty smart idea though. I'll have to write that one down. (No pun intended) Ha!

The 7D and 24-70 has set us back a bit.

It couldn't have set you back that much! Look at that hot trailer! It matches the tow vehicle perfectly. ;)

Out with the old...

And in with the new...

Nice Goat man! '05 MBM is one of the rarer colors. Looks great without the spoiler too.

I have an '06 IBM myself. It's a great car.
