I believe you have missed the point of this thread...

I kind of think you missed the joke of my post. The point of this thread isnt that hard to get

If there was a joke in LF911's post, then I missed it, too.

The point of this thread was stated by the OP in the very beginning:

Jesse West wrote in post #4287030 (external link)
Who has the coolest photo friendly car...?
I mean as far as for the working photographer, not to shoot.

Despite the clear directions from the OP, I see almost nothing but "violations" by those posting photos. It isn't supposed to be a thread showing cool-looking cars, but rather a thread showing cars that are most conducive to efficiently working as a photographer. It's supposed to be about cars that help you get the shot, or cars that help you get yourself and your gear to the shooting location, not about cars that "look cool".

I feel as if 99% of those posting here have completely missed the point of the thread and/or intentionally ignored the clear, specific instructions given by the OP at the thread's outset.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I guess I missed it too.

I missed it as well. And since he posted it right after my post, I think he was taking some sort of shot at me posting up my F430. Or that's what it looked like to me, but it's not really important.

The point is this thread is for cars you own. Take a step back, you are new here so there is much to learn..I mean not for me as I know everything..but others.

I for one did not like Z32 posting his Ferrari..as that should be my Ferrari :-)

That's what I thought is was supposed to be about.

Apparently we've moved away from the concept. :-(

You posted something vague which confused several people, including me. So I wasn't sure what you were getting at. That's all my reply implied.

The point is this thread is for cars you own.

Actually, the point of this thread is to post photos of cars that you own that you use in your work as a working photographer. It isn't supposed to be about the cars that you use for recreational purposes, commuting to a non-photography job, etc, etc, etc.

It is for photos of cars that are used in the work of photography. Yet, some persist in cluttering up the thread with photos of sports cars, without even bothering to explain how those vehicles are used in their photographic business.

I really don't get that intent from the two one lines in the two posts from the OP...

the thread is a fun thread...that seems to be about the cars we own...and like to take pictures of...

as a photographer...and I read this as..."not to take pictures of your car for you, not a solicitation.."...not as the vehicle you use to work in...work vehicles are rarely cool photo friendly cars...

It's titled "Photographers Rides"

We're photographers right? And this is all photo's of our rides?

Or is the thread only for professional photographers?

Finally, someone got my point. We have a winner

Sorry people. Every stupid reason to lecture me on the OPs request, as if it were that hard or that serious, can stop now.
You drive a Ferrari, good for you. I can appreciate that. Im a car person, currently drive a 911, have had 3 911's, a Boxster S and a 944 turbo. I'll tell you this though, I never would take one to a job. And that was the assignment, cars used for work.

So get off your high horse criticizing me for missing the point. Or at least get it straight if you're going to lecture me

Personally, with 557 pages in the thread, I think we lost control of it long ago, & nobody is going to go back & edit out the non-conforming posts.
So as long as the photog owns it, it will work for me.

Here's my current car. I got the roof racks for it so that I can transport large photo blinds and other wildlife photography gear.

In this pic it is carrying a 12 foot tall orchard ladder. The ladder has been painted camouflage, and has an Enduro ballhead installed on the top step. The ballhead is so that I can use the ladder as a very tall tripod when the need arises. The ladder is used for photographing cavity-nesting birds at their nests, which are usually too high up in trees to photograph properly from the ground; hence the need for the ladder.

My car is the tool that gets me and my gear to the site. If you look closely you may notice that the bottom portion of the front bumper has been cut away. I did this because it would keep hanging up on brush and rocks when I would take it off-road. The car is a more functional tool without the lower portion of the bumper.
