These are the best cars in the world. In Australia we call them ‘troopies’, short for troop (or troupe) carriers. But I have to say it looks naked without a bullbar. You just wouldn’t go into the Australian outback without one. Too many animals to hit! Cool looking dog too.

Thank you that's what I think too, but in Europe and in France Troopys:love: are rare, in France bullbar are prohibited -?

I think 'troopys' are rare everywhere! I wish they sold the 70 series in the US..! Now they sell a pickup truck version of the Jeep, and almost nobody knows it's just a cheap imitation of the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 series.

For your entertainment here is a link to a youtube clip (external link) of Manmoy kids pretending to be the Narbalek band (from Arnhemland, a long way east of Darwin) doing a cover version of 'Down Under' and featuring a 'brand new troopie".

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

My 2014 Chevy Malibu. I bought it from my aunt's estate after she passed away in 2018. I actually picked it up last January. The thing was five years old and had just over 17K on the clock. She never went anywhere. I'm not even sure why she even bothered owning a car. Anyway, I paid my brother $6,900 for his half of the wholesale blue book on it.

I keep telling myself I'm going to get something new, but this thing was cheap, it's in great shape and it runs well. So what the Hell?

Just shut up and smile...

My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!

Original! Nice one! Does it avoid the congestion charge when it goes into the city?

Jaguar XF 3Litre V6 Turbo. Had it four years now and reluctant to part with it because it came with a five year service plan.:-)

Hi fotoi, thanks. Might sell it next March - but I did say Might!
Had Jags for last 30 years and never had a problem.
I was going to change it at three years but couldn't bring myself to lose the free services and so I took out an extended w/tee. Anyway it has only done 24,000 miles now, and because of our semi mixed message lock-down I cannot see that it's mileage will increase much this year. I keep promising myself an F Type coupe, but I'd better save my money just in case the new Canon R5 is justifiably affordable.:-)
