Good for the roses too

My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!

On the way home from this trip I sunk it in a big water hole in Northern Kentucky (photo taken in FL). Insurance totaled the truck due to water inside the vehicle. After Christmas I will be looking for a replacement - FJ Cruiser, GX470 or another 4th gen with a V8. I'm getting very antsy to get back on the road....!

I just set the idle / base timing good enough to take it to storage tomorrow. It has 4-5 months worth of dirt on it in the picture.

Are you back in the US now? I'm not sure if I've ever seen that car actually run, lol!

you sunk it while offroad? that is a bummer. I have been dreaming of a camping rig like that...not sure I can bring myself to sell the Mustang just yet, but I really have acquired a desire to be off grid more and camp more.

Yup, the 3rd 'little puddle' was about 4' deep in the middle. Got stuck, went for help and found 5-6" of water in the passenger footwell. Pulled it out and drove it 7.5 hours home with it stuck in 4wd. Unfortunately 2 cameras were in a bag on the floor there. They didn't make it either, lol. Fuji X100F and Minolta X-700.

I actually spent 3 nights in Georgia on the trip. I really liked it there. Stayed at a really cool spot in the NE part - wish I could remember the name. The campground ran along a river with lots of little falls. Beautiful place.
This is from that location.

I was on the road for 2 weeks on that particular trip (photo in previous post was from Florida). I miss being on the road and hopefully will be again early next year. I bought the tent in mid August and I've logged 57 nights in it! Mustangs are fun - my dad has two of them. This was my first truck and I am hooked. 4x4 changes the game. The sense of freedom grows exponentially when you've got 4 wheel drive. Even just a decent set of tires gets me places my lowered cars couldn't dream of going, haha.

Thanks. I will find a replacement here soon. Not a whole lot of time this year, but hoping to find something new and be back on the road in January. Normally I'd be planning a trip to Mexico or something for January, but 'they' are trying to ruin everyone's fun with this charade being pulled... If I go to Mexico I ain't coming back...!

Yes, I was in CT for over 5 years, now near Cleveland for ~ 2.5 years. It runs, but needs tuning. It's taken back seat to house projects and now the Spyder. Both DSM's are in storage (both were even driven there on their own:)).
