To get the good stereo, I had to go with 19 inch wheels. They were hideous, and rode like crap, and I do quite a bit of dirt and gravel roads, so I fixed it.

Love it!

Yeah the cost of tires is INSANE now, so 19's = even more $$$$; Wish I could go 18's on mine but the big brakes make it tough to find wheels with the correct offsets.

It’s the same with the prime. It has larger brakes than a standard RAV4 due to the extra weight of the battery, so you have to be careful finding wheels that will clear.

Those are two beautiful automobiles, Mark! You find it difficult switching from your native RH drive to LH drive in performance vehicles? Are you ambidextrous?:-)

Thanks. I've owned yanks for many years so got used to it. The Challenger doesn't have power steering and drum brakes all around, so it's like driving an old tractor. Lots of fun though.

Love the last one - I so nearly purchased a Lotus Esprit Turbo but had a head over heart moment and decided agianst it due to running/maintenance/insurance/fuel costs - so it ended as just a pipe dream.

I work on them, and have to say that was the best and worst decision you may have ever made in your life.

The Esprit is such a timeless design, and I'm bummed they don't make it anymore. There hasn't been a Lotus that has piqued my interest since - it looked like a proper supercar. I always liked the S4 from the early 90s. Owning one, however....!

I don't know if you all have seen the episode of Harry's garage where he drove his Esprit turbo on a 1k mile trip - I liked it. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIn7gCN6uC4 (external link)

I owned a Lotus Esprit Turbo for 16 years, never had a problem in all those years. As long as you drive them regularly and drive them mechanically sympathetically, they'll go on and on.

In 2018 I traded in my Hemi powered Dodge Ram pickup for a Honda Clarity Plug In Hybrid. 90% of my driving is in electric mode and last year I used 12 gallons of gas to go 4400 miles. I was going to buy a Tesla Model Y this year but changed my mind when they removed the radar from the adaptive cruise control (which I have on the Clarity). The Tesla also lacks Apple CarPlay and SiriusXM radio.

Quite a change from a Dodge Ram pickup. The gasoline usage is impressive, but I'm wondering if you noticed much of an increase in your electric utility bills?
