just curious, how light is light? i've been seeing a lot of fixie's lately... seems to be very trendy these days

In my case I'm pleased with how light mine are given their frame sizes. I'm 6'3" and my frame is a 61cm (because of the sloping top tube) the whole bike is 15lbs. Which is as light as my full carbon fiber road bike (a 59CM).

Crazy feather weight bikes are 13lbs and under. Typically those are very small frames though.

Yes fixed gear bikes are horridly popular right now. I can't wait until the trend shifts back to razor scooters or something so I can ride my bike and not feel like an idiot. (Which I do anyways, but it would be nice :))

R12 - very nice. You can always tell when someone is a hardcore rider when they're on a Bimmer :) I've seen guys out in the snow on multiple occasions. Completely and totally badass :)

Thanks.

Yeah, a lot of us BMW riders are all about the miles, but I know guys on a lot of different brands that put on some serious miles. I ride about 15 to 18 thousand miles a year and I'm barely in the top half of my club. Our top rider did over 100,000 miles last year. We had two riders that placed in the top 20 of this years Iron butt Rally. That's 11,000 miles in 11 days plus bonus points for the "scavenger hunt"

at the beach, i know the green grand marquis is kinda distracting but it wouldnt move and this was the ideal parking spot (some others had shade) with the way the sun was.
