I know there are quite a few bag addicts in here. They get a bag.. and ultimately desire more. So they keep buying.. and buying.

Vote. :)

EDIT: Bags MUST be CAMERA bags. They cannot be 'some other bag I use for my cameras sometimes', or laptop bags or tripod bags.. etc.

EDIT2: It is irrelevant whether or not you still use some of your bags. I'm sure for people who own multiple bags, certain ones are used more than others, and some may be ignored completely. Out of the 4 bags I own currently, I only mainly use one of them nowadays. If you OWN it, it counts!

Step 1 - buy a bag for your gear
Step 2 - buy more gear, get a big bag
Step 3 - realize that you can't/don't need to carry it all. Buy a toploader.

:D

I've edited it a bit, to suit my bag buying reality. ;) :D

Actually I came to the realization I have most people beat and already own couple dozen assorted bags and backpacks and just made my own.

Billingham 335 and 445. Also had a small Crumpler, but that was stolen. Also have A Pelican for my Lumedyne flash set.

So I guess that makes two.

The main problem is the realization that there's a different bag that would be ideal for each given situation. So far I've just got a Toploader 75AW and Crumpler 6 Million, but I'm already eyeing a Stealth Reporter D400AW... and taking a look at various belt systems. I'm fairly happy with my lenses now, so I'm starting to covet bags more than other equipment.

Small, Lowpro Slingshot 200 for travelling light, and non dedicated photo trips

Medium, Lowepro Nature Trekker, for longer hikes with a fair amount of gear

Very Large, Think tank airport Addicted. So far it carries just about eveything, and its really heavy, ~50 lb! Its capacity is amazing. The Think Tank gear has among the most well thought out designs.

Only ever had one at a time:

1. Had the Lowepro Slingshot 100AW. Liked the idea of being able to access the contents easily, but quickly became too small.
2. Tried the messenger style Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home, but didn't like carrying all that weight on one shoulder.
3. Currently own the Tamrac Adventure 7. It's a nice backpack, but the camera gear section is a bit small. It is OK for now as I've learned to not take everything with me, but only what I need. Like the top section for non photographic stuff...

1. Crumpler Daily XXL
2. Crumpler Pretty Boy XXXL

They're the ones I count as proper camera bags anyway, I want a backpack and probably more too though...
