I'm considering getting Lightroom, I have only been using the program that came with my 5D, are there other programs I should look at before deciding on lightroom?

But it's quite obvious from my avatar which program I use exclusively. ~Spaceships Don't Come Equipped With Rear View Mirrors~

There are some apples and oranges here: Lightroom is good to post-process files and *also* to catalog them. Some programs do one or the other better but few do both. Among the ones that do both is Aperture. Among the ones that are most robust for editing -- with the ability to use layers -- are the various flavors of Photoshop. Bibble is a great program and somewhere between: it is good for post-processing and converting lots of RAW files very easily but doesn't do layers or cataloging.

I'm from the days when you basically had to get it right from the shooting stand point. Long long ago I shoot portraits and weddings. Now its like starting all over. There is so much you can do post shooting, just allot to learn. Canon 5D Mark IV & BG-E20
