New lens. What do you think?

I bought a new lens today. I initially went in to buy the Sigma 70-300mm APO Super Macro. But they did not have it in stock. After playing around with some other lenses they had, I decided I really liked a Quantaray they had. I suppose it is not as great as the Sigma, but it is very nice for me, considering my current experience. It was only $169, so it is not a big deal if I have to upgrade at a later date. I was hesitant to buy it, since I have read Quantaray is not exactly the best out there. But the sales rep at Wolf Camera said to give it a try. If I was unsatisfied in any way, I could bring it back and he would order the Sigma for me. So far I like it. I know Quantaray is not the preferred brand, but what do you guys think?

The photos below are a couple examples using the programmed settings on my 300D, with manual focus. I didn't get the most sharp pictures, but other then cropping and resizing, the pictures were not touch during post-processing.

I like the second shot!

Very nice DOF control, and also very nice crop.

Best regards,
Andy

Good lens.

From the two posted photos, it looks like the lens does a good job of capturing a sharp image.

Looks good

Is there any way you could send a couple more samples. I'm always looking at lense choices. Actual results from real people can tell more than test reviews sometimes.

Thanks
Robbie Simmons
