I have had my 30D for a few months and when I compare my images to others I am disappointed. My pics always seem to be soft focused not sharp. I have examined the pics to see if the camera locked in on the wrong part of the composition or user error however nothing is sharp. my lenses are L series so I do not attribute my problem to these, does anyone else have any idea of what it might be?
Thanks

Are you sharpening your images with Photoshop? Images right out of the camera need to be processed.

I usually bring into either Bride or Lightroom for minor processing; Not quite sure how to post images with EXIF
Thx

Also, are you comparing 100% crops or are you comparing your images straight out of the camera with no post processing vs. other images that have been PP'd and downsized?

Examples would be good.

Well, it could be many many things....as mentioned above, post a few examples otherwise everyones answer is just a shot in the dark. If you just downsize them before posting (don't same for web) the EXIF should stay intact.

They are straight out of bridge; I might adjust the exposure contrast our brightness slightly but that is it. I just notice how everyone else's work I have seen posted looks in focus and sharp. what size/resolution do you suggest to post? I have tried to attach a file via the manage attachments and it does not work for me.

Well, that's why you need to post a 100% crop. Preferably cropping the area where your focal point was. Also, find the EXIF data and post it as well so we could see the shutter speed/iso/aperture.

Also, chances are... the images you say are sharp were sharpened in camera or post and is not straight out of the camera.
