1. I can't figure out whay the camera won't take pictures in full darkness of distant objects stars landscope etc . In auto,or manual modes. If I turn the lens to manual it taes picture. In short having trouble taking pictures at night.
2. How do you focus in darkness cause camera has a hard time with focus, and if I maunaly do it how can i when you only see darkness through eye piece. PLEASE someon ehelp me here.

you should have the camera on a tripod for night shooting, what are you tring to shoot? Lanscape, peole etc?

If there is nothing visible to focus on you can set the lens to infinity, the shutter might stay open a few seconds which is why you need a tripod.

Sounds like you jumped right in to some difficult stuff :) When it comes to night photography, your best bet is to go to "M" mode and experiment. Try some 30 second exposure at ISO 200 to start out with and go from there. Autofocus will have a tough time focusing in very low light so your best bet is manual focus...of course, if darkness is all you see in the viewfinder then you'll need a faster lens to let in more light.

You'd have to take your photo using manual focusing, and set your lens to .
