I don't normally do this, but I'm gonna post a link to a little gallery of 100 pics. It would be greatly appreciated if ANYONE can have a look through and tell me if any are crap or needs work.

The reason I am nervous is this wedding was the daughter of a very well respected local photographer. He's done weddings probably longer than I've been alive, and I respect him a lot. So I just wanna add an extra layer of critique before I send them the pics; he's got a good eye. :(

Any help would be appreciated. I encourage people of all experience levels to offer their opinions.

thanks

I think you did a great job.
As always your use of off camera flash is amazing.
Love the colours for the outdoor shots.

The only critique ist hat there are a couple of pics that a lightly tilted...I can tell which pics you went for the tilt, but some look like they should be straight but they are off a bit...makes it looks like you were lazy with the PP...

i.e. girls on the steps, the second group shot in front of wall, the girls walking outside in front of greek restaurant...

Those things bother me personally, but if you say her father has a good eye, he may pick that up...but he might not see them as flaws...

Just my 2 cents...nothing more

These are at least up to your usual high standard, show them and be confident they'll be happy :)

Lloyd,
They are awesome shots. Man, I would be very delighted to receive those.

Anyway since you ask for it, here are my two comments

141542_3150.jpg - Beside you cut the bride's gown, well they are just too center for me and bunch of empty space on the top of the bridesmaid. From all the picture this would be my least favorite.

155846_3250.jpg - somehow my eyes got drawn to the SUV.

Well, yah I couldn't find anymore

Also, the file number is just too long hehehehhehe

Sorry for being picky ... now I would just go to my room.:(

You show again why you're one of the top pros in this forum. My only critique (it seems we've been talking about this quite a bit lately) is that some of them, particularly the "chocolate syrup" ones look like they might show up dark in print.

I think they were fantastic...
adding that layer of observation/critique, from a layer of experience that is still new (from me)...

#5829 : videographer is visible? might be intended or overlooked? tighter crop?

erm i guess that's all... probably wasn't even worth me even saying that...

As usual Lloyd your work is amazing. I can't comment on exposure since this monitor is junk but compositionally outstanding. It really is amazing how much better I understand how you light your images now. ;p

I saw a Toggy shot too. Awesome Job! The only one that bugs me is the guy on the ground with blood. Fun shot but it made my stomach turn. Other than that I think you did a wonderful job!

Lloyd, admirably fine work.
The only criticisms being made here, are from people admitting that they're being picky - you have no reason to be nervous!

Phil

I gave you album a once over and tried to give an honest crit. Comments are as follows:

080137_2598...Amazing photo, the colors are brilliant

095633_5637... Great photo, I love the two different feelings going on this image, maybe try it in a b/w or sepia.

100224_2700... Try cropping out the TV

132022_3085... Great photo beautiful lighting and expressions

132301_3092... Same as above

161357_3295... Awesome image, I love the graffiti, but would eliminate the power lines

161932_3318... Take out garbage on the ground

163320_5793... Great concept but the couple looks a little soft, and the image does not look straight

162733_5799... You definitely pulled off the effect here, awesome awesome image

164152_5806... Power lines

Overall great images, you really captured the feeling of the wedding and how in-love the bride and groom are.

The Father of the Bride will be extremely happy.
Great job Lloyd!
