The lighting was terrible so the shutter speed was way down but I went ahead anyway and shot this Green-fronted Lancebill who I´ve never seen at the feeder before and figured I may not see again. With that bill he certainly can´t sit for his meal like the others...

Pitter really nice captures, knowing nothing about Hummers one thing that has always intrigued me is how do the parents feed the young, usually you see mouths wide open !

Huge Boo boo!

My apologies! That is not a Green-fronted Lancebill it is a Sword-billed Hummingbird. What on earth was I thinking?!Anyway that makes the twenty fourth hummer species to visit my yard.

So what flower requires that long of a bill? Amazing.
