I really, really want to upgrade....but the only way I can afford to right now is to buy used. I have a person interested in the XT, so I really need to make up my mind on this. My dh is hesitant on me buying used from someone I don't know. Should I just keep my XT since I did buy it new and have never had problems until I can afford it from a store? Thanks for the input! :D

What's the difference in cost going up to a 20D/30D. I recently did the same as you, selling off a 350D to get a 30D. I know it's not as nice as getting a sexy new 40D but my 30D's a joy to use. I also know how irritating I found it having the 350D called "toylike" but picking one up now... well sorry but it is!
So yes, get a used one. Just try get a good used one.

HI, I got a 30d (for a friend) with the kit lens 17-55 from adorama, a refurb. for 900 and I can tell you that the camera came like new. The only thing different about it is, it came with a blur/red strap instead the standart black/red. As far as I can see, buy.com has it new for 915 now and I vote yes, I would go with the switch.

yes...do it!
btw, also look at what you normally shoot. will it help you out more by getting a 30D? if not then just sit and wait, but if you can get a good deal for your 350D then maybe you should just sell it cause you can't get the same for it a couple months from now :-P

Go for it! Upgrading the Rebel XT, while I loved it, was worth it.

thanks for the input. It took over 2 hours to get an answer so I was getting a bit worried, LOL!

...and thank you DreDaze for the link. I remember seeing that, but when I did it was only on page one. I will definately call them to see......that would be almost what you'd pay for a used one on Ebay!

B and H has several used as well... Typically if they say "email for condition" it is a canon factory refurb. There is one on the site right now for $879, or a "9" condition for $819. I recently made the jump from XT to 30D all I can say is you certainly will not regret it! :D

XT is a great intro camera to learn from, 30D you start getting more seasoned. It has more capabilites than the XT.

I went for the 30D and have no regrets. I may learn this one and then go for the 40D replacement or the 5d when they come down in price. Enjoy.
