my instructor likes to take the power right off very early on my downwind leg. My last PFL was very aggressive but clean ;) We have one of the shortest runways in Canada...just under 2000' and it's surrounded by everything haha.

lol when I was doing my long X-Country for my PPL in 2000, flying off the concrete was a change but no less nail biting. doing a touch'n'go in a Katana with a semi going past the departure path. sure looked like we were going to leave rubber on the roof of his trailer!

Katana's are great little planes. I toured the plant in London, Ont back in the late 90's when I went along with a pilot to bring one back for warranty work.

In Langley I can tell you that a few semi-trucks have been 'rubbed' by a/c's on final for runway 01 lol
