lol it's only a concern when the surface temps are near zero.

it's -25C ambient right now so it's too cold for icing to be an issue. usually it's just a quick spray of Type I for frost removal and you're off into the wild blue.

It is, but the funny thing is that since the plane has such a fat body, the proportions don't make it seem all that huge when it is running around the tarmac.

I see the A380 at Frankfurt all the time, and when viewed on a taxiway from the terminal it doesn't seem all that big. The 747-400 with that thinner butt looks bigger when viewed all alone.
