Hmm...

the overall rotated-ness of this picture is kinda strange for an aircraft picture, no? it reminds me of the ricer super diagonal car pictures. I guess that's what makes it unique, right? Is it the lighting that does it for you, or otherwise, what makes you like this so much? (I ask because ive never understood the diagonally composed pictures and am trying to learn what others see in them)

I probably wouldn't compare the subject of this photo to some kid hard parking his Honda Civic but since you asked...I just like how the smoke shows the direction and attitude he's moving in. His routine is largely spent cheating the abilities of his aircraft and I guess that's what I was trying to show here. I've often made comments to friends about the 'gravity defying' photos of their cars (diagonal as you called it). I'll simply say that aircraft do a better job of it than cars do.

I said I liked it which doesn't mean I expect others to as well :)

I did a double take when I saw this as it so clearly is a BAe Hawk (think Red Arrows), Googled and now I see the shared origins of the USA development/production of such a familiar look aircraft :D

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Now that is well seen :D It reminds of the one of those 2 Sumo wrestlers seen with a similar perspective of "little & (much) larger"

I took Dad to Coolidge P08 this morning for their monthly fly-in breakfast. About mid-morning he was getting tired and wanted to go home. As we were walking to my truck, this interesting biplane arrived. Not something we see everyday.

A very colourfull AN2 :D We get these at airshows in the UK fairly often, once at the Jersey International Airshow (in the Channel Islands) they announced that he was flying into what for any other aircraft would have been a stall but he was effectively "hovering" much like the way a kestrel flies into the wind and hovers. I have a picture of it somewhere but sadly you would be able see/tell it was static in the air overhead!
