Is there going to be a 5D replacement? When is it expected and what changes will be made? Im thinking of making the switch to canon but want to wait for the 5D replacement. Will it have better fps? Any info would be appreciated

it is 100% sure that there will be a replacement. as for what features it will have, only Canon knows the answer to this one.. if i had to take an educated guess, i would say:

16mp
dust removal
4-5 FPS
3" LCD screen
14- bit
same menu as 40D and mkIII
AF-On button

Hi. No word as of yet on a replacement for the 5D. You can check the rumor forums and you will see plethora of 5D II options that some want on the next 5D. I'm assuming we will hear something in Feb. 2008.

I would say that chances are, the next generation 5D will one (or two) up the Nikon D300 that was just released.

Canon has released no information that I'm aware of and given that, any information you get here will be pure speculation and best guesses.

For those of us interested in getting into fullframe as a general statement, an updated 5d would be great (assuming it would knock the price of the 5d down so I can buy it!)
it was introduced at about $3000 USD and now can be found (body only) for about $2000 usd. If it would fall another $1000, I'd be ecstatic!
