My best friend Travis married Krista 3 weeks ago (10-20-2007). He didn't want me to photograph his wedding because he would rather me be a groomsman (which I was more than happy to oblige!). However, they wanted more photos taken of them, so they asked me to do that. Krista got back in her dress, and Travis into a suit that looked similar to his tux (minus the vest). We took a few outdoors although it was really cold! We draped a coat over Krista's shoulders between sets to help keep her warm. Then it was off to Molly Brannigans pub in downtown Harrisburg for a set.. I had gotten prior permission from the manager the week before. Here are a few of my favorites. C&C welcome! :D

Hey Tom!

These are great! I love your use of off-camera lighting. Looks like you're well on your way. Your friends will be pleased :)

Right now, I have 2 flashes and 3 PWs. I have a 580ex and a 580ex II (one for each body). Which are great for ETTL when used on my bracket, and right on the camera as well. I think any future flashes I'll be going on the cheaper side and getting SunPacks and the like. ;)

That's awesome! Off-camera lighting is such a magical art on all it's own. I also have a whole slew of pocket wizards, but, honestly, I haven't used them in a long time. I've had great success with Canon's IR system. Ends up being cheaper too - if you want to add a flash to your setup, all you need is another flash (430 even) as opposed to another flash + PW.

How has the IR system been working for you outdoors?

Honestly? Incredible! I haven't had a problem yet.

If you check out my blog (in my sig), all the photos you see there have off-camera flash, and they were all with the Canon IR system. Like I said, I haven't even touched my PWs in months. Haven't been happier!

The advantage of being able to control everything right from where you are outweighs the disadvantage of having to have direct line of sight (outdoors), imo.

These are really good! Don't forget to convert to sRgb before you post to the web.

haha! Yeah.... during her last fitting, she found that she HAD to have straps put on... she really wanted to keep it strapless, but it just wasn't working for her...

Tim, this may be a silly question but.... I thought it was in sRGB? I always use "Save for web" in PSCS2 to export my web images. I thought this converted it to sRGB?

Anyway, after making adjustments, I export from Lightroom using Adobe RGB. Then I open them up in PSCS2 for any other creative PP/touchups and usually a little sharpening. The images that get posted to the web are exported using the Save for Web function, which like I said, I THOUGHT was converting it to sRGB... am I wrong on that point?

Perhaps I'm taking the wrong approach to color management?? The help is appreciated! :D

Thanks!! ;)
