No - it's not. It's still a 24-105 mm lens. Please, please, please don't add to the confusion over this. Please. People so easily get the impression that the focal lengths change, and that there is some "conversion factor" involved, when there is not. All that happens is that the cropping sensor records less of the image formed by the lens than a full frame sensor. Focal lengths do not change.

OK, maybe my terminology is wrong, but when comparing the smaller framed sensor camera to a 35mm film equivalent or full frame sensor DSLR there is a 1.6x magnification factor on my 20D camera; so a 28mm lens on this camera, frames like a 45mm lens on a 35mm SLR, and that is the point I was trying to make with the 24-105mm.
