I’ve known Kim for well over 10 years now. We first met back in junior high ('93). Back in ‘05, Kim & Jason got married in one of my favorite places, Cuba! I was actually inches away from flying out as well just to shoot their wedding (would of been my first Destination wedding, let alone full wedding!) however it just happened to be that time of the year where EVERY hotel was booked!

I should mention, they never got engagement photos done, nor any proper photos during their wedding (I think the photographer at the resort only used one roll), but she's always wanted to get some 'engagement style' photos done.

So a nice Sunday came along back in October, with some fairly good weather and we went out to hit up the Kits area. Maddie (their dog) also came out who kept things interesting! Here's a couple of my favs:

Thanks everyone!

I had both my 1D and my 20D on me (17-40 on the 1D and 70-200 on the 20D). I think out of all my shots, I only used about 3-5 out of the 17-40. The 70-200 is just a way way better lens I find for shoots like this. It allows me to get the shots from far away, without being too intrusive to the couple, which I like. They get to act more normal which is nice.

True, Maddie had a mind of his own that day. In that shoot near the metal sculpture there were some kids flying kits behind them, so that ended up keeping his attention the other way.

Really nice captures and I like the processing too. I'd be curious to know what the tighter crops look like - so I could really see their eyes/faces.

Cheers,
Phil
