How come every other country you just have to get in line and have your 1DmkIII repaired but Malaysia needs proof it is bad!!!!!!!!

See their response to my request to have my 1DmkIII repaired.
First of all we would like to thank you for your support in our Canon products.
With regards to your inquiry, in order for us to assist you further, we would prefer that you could provide us the serial number of the body and the sample of the photograph.
Once we receive more information from you, we will be most pleased to assist you. We thank you for writing to us and have a nice day.

When you spend enough time in some of these Asian countries you begin to see just pedantry they are.

Edit:Pedantry substituted for Pedanticism, sentence reconstructed to suit.

Guess you'll have to take an OOF shot and send it to them.

I really don't see what the problem is? It is fair enough that they want the serial number and if your camera is affected then it won't be that hard to give them a few pics that are affected. They seem like they will bend over backwards to help you???

Also have you considered that they are trying to evaluate the depth of the problem in general? Remember you could be one of the first people to e-mail them about this new fix in your area and the internet is the fastest place for info, faster than implementing a course of action to undergo the this hardware fix.
