A couple thoughts:
First, the serious ones...
1. This time of year, there isn't a lot to do here in the desert besides sit under a fan. I can do that while holding my laptop. As the weather moderates, I'll be outdoors more often, hopefully with camera in hand.
2. Being a moderator involves reading things that I might not otherwise be interested in. The more I read, the more I find things to respond to.
Now, the real stuff...
1. I'm a big-mouth and a know-it-all, and I'll comment on anything (except flash photography which, after all, is really black art...not science).
2. I will never have as many posts as CDS or Marie because they apparently use all ten fingers to type with. This obviously saves them a lot of time and increases their output. I'm also somewhat convinced that one of the reasons Marie is so prolific is that she uses purple text and a random emoticon generator. I'm not sure why purple increases productivity, but the random happy face generator clearly gives her an advantage.
3. I have mastered the art of pointless, inane comments. These allow me to respond without having to give any thought to a subject.
4. I'd be even higher in total posts if I didn't feel obliged to always add a second sentence to my comments in Share Photos. (Example: Nice shot. Is that your finger or an out-of-focus bald guy?)
5. I lost a lot of time reading the lengthy exchanges between Tom_W and John_T. Those things were about the same length as War and Peace.
6. Oh, one more reason CyberDyneSystems has so many more posts than I do.....I will usually run my longer contributions through a spell checker. Clearly he doesn't do that. Or else he needs a new spell checker..
