Well we have a mighty close "race" for the bottom half of the Top Ten Posters here.

IMAGE: http://www.itsanadventure.com/postimages/topten.gif

I was happy that I finally made it into the top ten after languishing for weeks at #11. But look how close we all are: Only 40 posts separating numbers 7 thru 10, and Conk is not far behind at all.

Golly, I never realized that I talked so much.
:D

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

There are people who really have nothing better to do than post here :
example : CDS : 6900 post / 16 Months = 430 posts per month = 14 posts per day
(I'm far behind with only 1.69 posts per day...)

But hey... that's what keeps the forum alive :P

A couple thoughts:

First, the serious ones...
1. This time of year, there isn't a lot to do here in the desert besides sit under a fan. I can do that while holding my laptop. As the weather moderates, I'll be outdoors more often, hopefully with camera in hand.
2. Being a moderator involves reading things that I might not otherwise be interested in. The more I read, the more I find things to respond to.

Now, the real stuff...
1. I'm a big-mouth and a know-it-all, and I'll comment on anything (except flash photography which, after all, is really black art...not science).
2. I will never have as many posts as CDS or Marie because they apparently use all ten fingers to type with. This obviously saves them a lot of time and increases their output. I'm also somewhat convinced that one of the reasons Marie is so prolific is that she uses purple text and a random emoticon generator. I'm not sure why purple increases productivity, but the random happy face generator clearly gives her an advantage.
3. I have mastered the art of pointless, inane comments. These allow me to respond without having to give any thought to a subject.
4. I'd be even higher in total posts if I didn't feel obliged to always add a second sentence to my comments in Share Photos. (Example: Nice shot. Is that your finger or an out-of-focus bald guy?)
5. I lost a lot of time reading the lengthy exchanges between Tom_W and John_T. Those things were about the same length as War and Peace.
6. Oh, one more reason CyberDyneSystems has so many more posts than I do.....I will usually run my longer contributions through a spell checker. Clearly he doesn't do that. Or else he needs a new spell checker..

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Now I know some of you have been put out to pasture and are enjoying some sort of retirement. For those of you that haven't how many times a day do you respond from work.

I'm on a day off today.....honest

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

There is still ONE top contributor who will not reveal his location. I think he worries that others will spot him trying to catch up on them.

Last I heard, he had emerged from the wilderness and was headed for California.

I'll provide updates as new information develops.

Yeah, I didn't either! But not that I know, I'll have to make sure that I reply to every one of the posting made by the other people in the top 10 so that I can at least keep pace with them. :D

So, tell me, where's the finish line and what's price for the first person that gets there?

I'm not sure, but i think what you get is a bill from peka for this months bandwidth.

To paraphrase Sir Winston:

"Never have so few said so much that meant so little."

Alas. Being near the top of this list is not necessarily a matter of great pride. I will be willing to sell my post count to anyone wishing to achieve instant 'Top Contributor' status. I may move this thread to Marketplace to see if there are any offers.

Wrong. I've mentioned my location on several occasions. I'm about two f-stops north of Belmondo. The white balance is a little cooler.

The sooner you get behind on a project, the more time you will have to catch up.

Having give this some thought, I believe that Cyberdyne Systems wins the prize, hands down. The prize should be a new dictionary or else a new keyboard. One of those is defective.

No Keyboard..

I have a PS2 port wet-wired into the back of my "Abdulla Oblongata" (sic)

It's performance is crippled by;

A: The PS2 ports inherent speed constraints Vs. the Light speed proceesiing power of my AI infused CPU cluster.

B: It is afflicted with dyslexia (yes.. I am a memebr of D.A.M., Moderators Agaist Dyslexia)

C: The PS2 Cable has frayed ends and kinks in it from repeatedly having to turn to look over my shoulder while posting here at work.

As far as a race? Not even trying.. I just like to see myself virtually type..

I've never claimed to be anything other than long winded!
