I will be printing out some black and white prints on my Epson R1800 printer. This is the first time i am going to be printing black and white.

What i want to know is what type of paper would be good to print black and white pictures? such as Matte, Luster, Semi-Gloss, Gloss.

In addition what is in your opinion the best paper company in the paper you recommend?

Also anything else i can tweak on the Epson printer before i print my black and whites on this?

I use Epson Watercolor Radiant White paper in my R2400 with excellent results. It's a matte paper so, you'll have to use the Matte Black ink. There are many other Fine Art papers out there but, none more economical. It only cost on average $1.00 per 13x19 sheet. Wilhelm Research rates this combo (R2400 + above paper) at 200+ years (B&W) before any noticeable fading if framed under glass. You should get the same or similar results as the R2400. Something interesting - The paper only cost $1.00 for a 13x19 but it takes $4.00 worth of ink to print.
