First, I want to thank everyone who took the time to welcome us to the forum in the '67 Rambler American 290 thread which features pix of our car by Frank C. Also, thanks to Frank for pointing out the image-size limit. I'm the kind of guy who assembles something and then reads the instructions - bad habit . . .

Since we're into classic/special interest cars, we attend a lot of car shows and shoot a lot of pix while we're there. One of the other things we're involved in is the model car hobby. We have in the past offered detailing items to model car builders, and I am currently doing engineering drawings for clients; one of which is a kit manufacturer, and three others that work the aftermarket. A lot of what we photograph at shows is reference material for this work, and includes a lot of close-up shots (nothing makes people look at you like you're nuts faster than walking up and taking pictures of their car from six inches away . . .). Some of the photos have an interest beyond mere research. It has been said that you can't really appreciate the beauty in the design of an automobile until you wash it - get right up close and run your hands over it. We believe this is true . . .

Take the link to nine photos of art as cars . . .

Thanks, Frank. As I said, we take tons of these kind of pix - I just tried to grab a handful of things that I think have nice texture.

I will definitely go through the tabletop tutorial - we are actually going to a model show/swap tomorrow, if anyone is interested . . .

Geeez! Purple text on a black background! Having no life to speak of, I may go to see is anyone has a '69 Cuda.

Yeah, tell me `bout it. But most of these guys are better at building models than they are at HTML & Web design. Deb & I will be there all day, so maybe we'll run into you . . .

I just posted in the model thread. It's a mindset to photograph small details, which I need to refine.

It's just a little camera. Flickr (external link)
