They are two diff lenses...one is a walkaround, the other is for WA to medium.

Your poll didn't include "both":

For walk-around, 24-105 IS (my hands aren't steady enough at f/4 and smaller)
For controlled, portrait, tripod, etc, 24-70 (I love f/2.8!)
