The quality is good enough for me, my only concern is the front focus issue. I will wait a few more weeks in case news starts to leak out. If they do hopefully 1D prices will drop further. But even if a new one is announced it will be quite a while untill you can get one then there will be all the problems you usually get with new models which inevitably require firmware upgrades. So in reality it won't be available till next year. D60 is a prime example, in fact my dealer has given up on Canon and is selling Nikon D100's as fast as he can get them. His comment is at least he can get them and I see his point he has to make a living and can't sell what he has not got. David
