For those people not familiar with the man, he more or less is one of the best portrait photographers to ever touch the medium. His basic look was really austere in that it was always a stark white background, always in black and white, and always very clinical looking. I never really understood the appeal until I read him discuss it and how the intention was to create a photo that was solely the subject and the viewer. No fancy gimmickry, no background to blend in with, no color, no nothing except for the subject.
I had the idea of doing something like that, and I got... well I got pretty damn distracted and completely veered off course. I did use a white background though
I'm signing a lease on my studio space tonight, so in the meantime I've been experimenting with alot of lighting and such to put together some "looks" that I want to use. I plan on doing a whole set of maybe a dozen people using this one I came up with last night. I really like how it turned out.
Thoughts?
