I've just watched a used Canon 10-22mm lens sell for £72 ($149) more than the price of a new one!

You say it sold for $149.00, more than the price of a new one. I don't see a new Canon 10-22 for less than $315.00 with a day left in bidding?

You've added a comma there, which changes the meaning of the sentence completely :-D

I said it sold for $149 more than the price of a new one, meaning that it was $149 in addition to the price that you can get them for new.

I sold a used lens that I paid $110 for, for $120!

I sold a compact digital that I paid $225 for and used for 6 months for $230!

I've been told by PayPal that I have to pay for the shipping back to China of the crap that some Chinaman sent me, myself. I informed Paypal that it wasn't good enough and passed the matter to my bank.

Its likely that a number of the winners will never pay... happens a lot on Ebay.

Some may be winners in countries where that is a bargain price, even if higher than retail because Ebay is thier only access to the US market? Or other markets for that matter.

Yes, there are a lot of time-wasters on there! I'm only watching UK auctions and referencing them against new prices available in the UK though.
