Blimey, that was a lucky sale! We usually have to pay significantly more over here than the US prices, so I'm surprised it went back to the US.

It could be scram too. I have buyer who pulled back money from paypal after I shipped. Paypal will pull back the money even after I have transfer the money to my bank. It just leave me with a negative balance on paypal.

For some reason, paypal doesn't protect sellers. Just be careful. Don't be too happy if someone buy your item at higher than market price. Sometime, if it looks too good to be true, it probably it.

Yes, I was reading about chargebacks on another thread. I didn't know about it at the time, but one of my friends has since told me that it has happened to him a few times.

Wow thats BS....what recourse does Paypal give seller if that happens??
I have sold a few things on Ebay and not had that issue...but never sold anything over $200 so maybe I didn't attract the scammers...

Apparently they can take money back up to six months after the transaction. I read that somewhere in PayPal's help files.

I'm still fighting for my $80.90 because some turd in China sold me radio triggers that only kinda-sorta work and didn't supply the other stuff I bought!

Rhys, surely you can now legitimately put into practice the same method that the scammers use when they pretend they haven't received the goods.

Did you pay by credit card? They would be the first people to speak to.

They're still at it!

I have just watched a second hand 5D and battery grip sell for £1353.00, which is £119 more than you can get them for new over here!

Fortunately I was recently on the receiving end.
I had a 6 month old Tamron 70-300 (I bought it as a budget tele but found the quality was just a little too budget for my liking).
Put it on ebay and it went for nearly £110. Cheaper than the shop price, but definitely more expensive than online.

I think they just don't do their homework on the prices and then get carried away with the auction.

i am sure a lot of people use ebay for the sheer convenience.

you can find absolutely everything on ebay.
you click, you buy, you click on paypal and you have paid.

raising a buttock, removing wallet, typing in a 16 digit code, start date, end date, 3 digit number from the strip, and then your address is just so much hassel.....

and a lot of people do get drawn into an auction, especially once they are winning. if i see something i want, and it's usually £100. go straight in with £80 and forget about it.

if you go in at £10, and someone goes in at £15 and then someone else goes in at £25 there are now three people who all think it's theirs.

it's just like duty free in the airport. find out how much it costs in Tesco (walmart) before you fly!

paypal sucked and charge back around 1k to my account, which made it a negative $300. i owed eBay $200 for fees.
i was about to pay them, but i couldn't contact the customer rep. at all, then i thought HELL NO!. they took away $700 in my account for no reason, why should i pay them any penny more?

so, i've been dealing with phone calls from their debt collector for months. just ignore them all. i have a new ebay and paypal account now :p (just feel sad a little since i LOST money and my power seller ID with 300 feedbacks...)
