Rather good idea if you ask me, I believe it has been suggested in the past too.

If in doubt, I shut up...

Gear: 40D, 12-24mm AT-X Pro, 17-85mm, Sigma 150mm Macro Sigma 100-300 F4, 550EX, other stuff that probably helps me on my way.

Are novices allowed here. We'll just sit quietly and take notes.

The board's description is as follows:

About working as pro, thinking like a pro and shooting like a pro. Ask questions and share words about shooting professionally, earning money, challenges of digital revolution and getting the job done and billed. Or just lurk 24/7.

I don't think it will be restricted to pros only, but the subject matter will be tightly restricted to topics that relate to professional photography. The intent is to let the rest of the forum move along as it always has, but to give the people who earn their living (or a portion of it) with photography a place to go to discuss their profession and issues related to it.

Until we get the flavor just right, there will probably be a lot of threads move elsewhere in the forum.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

This is an open forum. All members are allowed to read and post. We just ask that everyone keep things on a more even keel here and on a more serious note.

Thanks belmondo for the clarification.

Btw, you never answered my question: do you mind if I call you JP (kindly don't answer that here, as it wouldn't conform to this room's requirement).

Thanks

Thanks for clarifying that Tom & Jim.

As a 'starting to go pro' photographer I can see this forum becoming very useful for me.

This sounds like a very good idea. I read Jims(RMF Sports) post earlier about wanting to found this area, and I think we can learn a lot from these guys, and I for one appreciate them taking the time to post here.
Thanks Jim, my hat's off to you.:D
