I hate shopping for shoes...I typically keep a pair of shoes for at least 1 1/2 to 2 years each pair. I never spend more than $100....if that.

No, but some cows and rattlesnakes were sacrificed for the cause.

Personally, I don't like cowboy boots. Never fit well for me.

Well, I submitted my last share photo, glad that is over.

Just watched an older movie, Chocolate. It was not too bad.

Chocolat is a good movie. Especially when the mayor binges on the chocolate in the window. :D

Shoes last me about 6 months. Sometimes a year. However, I do have a pair of boots that I've had for a couple of years, but I rarely wear them.

Hey Zane, I am with you on good footwear. It is not only worth it in performance and durability, it is much better from a health stand point too. You will have way less aches and pains because of the proper support they give.

The most I ever spent for a pair of shoes was $650. In 1984... Can anyone here beat that?

(They were cowboy boots)

Not with the inflation factor figured in but I know some cowboys that pay $1k or more and a lot hunters spend up words of that on custom boots. When you need a good boot for what you are doing it makes all the difference in the world.

Cowboy boots need to be a real good fit, and take a while to break in, but once they do they fit like a glove.

Yup, that major fella kinda fell apart there, evil chocolate. :p

They take a while to get broken in and comfy. I wore cowboy boots since I was a wee young'un, up until maybe ten years ago. I'm not sure why, but I just stopped wearing them.

I take it that flip flops aren't the best idea for riding shoes, then, huh?

Funny, I used to ride with a well known and very big winning timber jockey. He used to ride in flip flops and deck shoes all the time. Jockey boots have a soft sole like a flop anyhow He used to say it is easier to escape the stirrup if you fall.

I have footwear specific to different uses, but only one pair of each kind. Hiking boots, hiking shoes, water sandals, leather sandals, gym shoes, court shoes (badly neglected), work boots, winter hikers, ski boots, dress shoes (ok, two pair of these) and a pair of grubby shoes (old comfy dress shoes).

Man, I sound worse than most women, though I don't have any purses, just a dozen camera packs/cases/bags. :p
