I think I own about 5 pairs of shoes (2 sneakers, 1 crocs a pair of boots and a pair of dress shoes).

 Me too. I'm SO not a shoe person. I found a pair of shoes I liked on sale, and bought 3 pair. I have gym shoes, regular shoes, dress shoes and sandals. That's it.

Remember Star Search? With Ed McMahon? One of my favorite bands got their start from that old chestnut. I *love* Sawyer Brown. I don't think they're together any more, though...

Did you know the members of Sawyer Brown grew up in my neck of the woods? They do a concert here almost every year as a 'come back to your roots' type thing. They've done the county fair (FABULOUS outdoor concerts) and many many small concerts. I REALLY enjoy watching them.

Good advice. I prefer the ones that make me smell purty though. ;)

I remember Lava soap! My brothers have a 'birthmark' where the palms of their hands and the soles of their feet have an extra layer of rough skin, kinda like dog pads. Really rough... REALLY hard to wash. They used Lava soap. I haven't seen that since I lived at home.

Oil of Olay, or Caress?

Or that manly man soap, Irish Spring? Coast?

My dad would come back from deep sea fishing and use that Lava soap. I saw that it had pumice in it. Any soap that includes small chunks of volcanic rock was OK in my book. So I used it when I took a bath. I was one clean little boy.

Too late. :p

My grandfather was a farmer and washed up before every meal with lava soap. I tried it, it made me cry.

I only use Lava soap when I had oil or grime on my hands after working out in the yard.....I sure as heck would not use it any where else on my delicate body.:D

Yeah. It's genetic. My grandma has it, all 4 of her daughters have it.
With my mom, only her boys got it.
With one Aunt only her girls got it.
With another Aunt all her kids got it, girls and boys.
With another Aunt none of her kids got it.

Weird, huh.

So far, one of my brothers has 2 kids with it (2 kids without)
and the other brother has no kids with it.

It's strange and cool all at the same time. It's heat resistant. SO my mom could touch hot things that we couldn't.
But the roughness of her hands has always embarrassed her.

I don't remember what it's called. We call it 'birthmark'.

Oh yeah, I also hate wearing slippers. Any footwear inside is too warm for me.

Yep yep yep... Same here. The first thing I do when I walk in the door is change into my PJ bottoms, "I ♥ POTN" t-shirt, and kick off those shoes and socks...

Really? That's so cool!

There used to be an annual Country music fair at Hansen Dam in the San Fernando Valley. I saw them play there a couple times. I also met John Schneider and Tom Wopat at that fair once. At the time they were mostly known as Bo and Luke Duke (as in the Dukes of Hazzard), but they were both trying to break out into the Country music biz. John did pretty good, but Tom's music career fizzled pretty quickly.

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.
