Any you guys get the EOS mag from CAnon?,,,, on the Editors page, a statement about the 5D replacement :(, in a nutshell no replacement as yet, or even a hint, rather frustrating their attitude. stating that it does not fit into the usual sectors of marketing, hence no need to replace, I suppose they do not see the Nikon D3 as competition,

Would love a Full Frame to play with, and although the 5D is a great camera I would miss those extra points that the new bodies have these days, in fact in my books even I do shoot a lot of sports I feel that a FF would for fill my needs ok, as long as I had the lenses to reach, (to get close to the 1.3 crop and gain the rest in MP)

Photographic Images on Brett Butler (external link) px500 (external link) & Flickr (external link) Some Canon Bodies , few blackish lenses, A dam heavy black one, couple dirty white ones, a 3 legged walking stick, a mono walking stick, and a bag full of rubbish
And Still Learning all walks of life, & most of all Photography.

Has anyone else tried to take pics at a premiere ?
I took some at the Rolling Stones movie premiere yesterday, but it was hard work, I think you really have to get there early, but even then will get bumped when taking them.

Yeah one drops through my door every now and again. I rarely read it though

shoot a lot of sports I feel that a FF would for fill my needs ok, as long as I had the lenses to reach, (to get close to the 1.3 crop and gain the rest in MP)

No thanks, I've already had one load of back surgery, I don't want any more from carrying even bigger lenses around

Need someone to lighten your gear load? :p
I'd love a 400/500/600mm or even a Sigmonster 300-800 for airshows. But with my back and forth travelling (have to head to NZ again in a few months), and get a new car.. No way I can justify a big lens anytime soon.

 You don't want a Sigmonster for airshows. That puppy is heavy even when compared to the Canon 600/4! I had a go with Juz's one at Goodwood. The damn thing weighs a ton and at 800mm it shows the slightest vibration in the image. Optics are nice on it, though, and it did a surprisingly good job of tracking race cars on my 1D for a "sluggish" f/5.6 lens given that it was a fairly dull day.

I always find my 120-300 too short for airshows. And with a 1.4tc loses a bit of quality.
I've used a 600 f4 before, comparing direct to my 120-300, on a 20D.

Shot from probably 400 - 600 metres away, up a sand dune - across 100metres of beach and sea haze

120-300 + 1.4tc = 420mm

Yeah, the 120-300mm is undoubtedly the best zoom I own but the 600/4 is arguably the best prime I own (optically it is a toss-up between that and the 135/2). There lies the difference.

the 135/2 is my favourite lens by far.

But then I don't have a long and fast prime.

Extreme sweetness.

My chopper shot made the book though!! :D
