:lol: That comment reminds of the first time I had to visit both A&B and on the long road in being unsure where the labs were (I used to sell laboratory equipment) I stopped at a building approx 1/2 mile or so from the main building complex and it was like the Marie Celeste but what I do recall was a map on the wall showing a wind spread footprint :( now that was 'chilling'. Oh and when I got on site I could not shift a slight feeling of discomfort & I had worked for years doing lab work with radioactive markers and I never felt like that!!!!

Oh well back to photography & meeting up, subject to suggested places I will travel but will sadly pass on the beer as far too risky for the license

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

10" of rainfall per hour is one hell of a lot of rain, so might give that a miss :)
lol, I have seen that boat shot so many times, seems like that is popular place for tourist photogs :p

Yes it sounds impressive, but it is quite easy to meet an ingress requirement that is vertical rain, the quantity is almost irrelevant, much harder when it comes from all directions. I think this is why their documents call it "drip protection".

The higher level ingress protection requirements test with pressurised nozzles spraying from all directions. This gives some assurance that the equipment will stay water tight in rain (from any angle) and wind.

Yes that is a very cool boat shot, I was so hoping to find something like that on my trip.

I don't think there's any special reason to use second curtain (unless you want a particular effect). Just go as slow as you can get away with, I guess.

I got my firm's Xmas do in a couple of weeks, hope to be shooting that.

Thanks Pete! I've got my work's xmas do in a few days time and hope to put your results into practice. I'll post some when I can.

Did someone come up with a date for a meet up? I'd be interested if it was a weekend jobby.

Well I think Brighton is winning as the favoured destination. How are people set for Jan 2nd or 3rd?
