Thanks guys, some good points there. Agree with brightening the face and in the colour one, burning out the crowd more. Cheers. Believe it or not, the horse was 20 years old- he looked fabulous.

Hey nice to hear from you...How is the job? going well i hope.
Always stacks of opportuinty in London.
I did a day out there a while back, south bank, Westiminster including the abbey grounds. did not get so much as a sideways look from the Police who must be very used to tourist's, didn't try to use a tripod mind.
Canary Wharf is where i had bother...not too bad.
Pretty sure you will run out of CF cards before you run out of things to shoot.;)

cheers peter, yep the jobs going well thankyou, its extremly mentally draining at times but worth it in every way, im learning so so much every day of the week.
my photography is really coming on very well also, unfortunately i carnt post any of the images here, but shortly im doing some personal work in teh studio which (with the models permission) il happily post up for you guys!

my rotas just changed aswell, so now il be having sun and mondays off im half tempted to see if i can do some free work in a top end fashion studio in london just for the learning experience.

tomorow should be nice though, havent been out with the camera for a while now, unfortunately my new lowepro mini trekker hasnt arrived so im rifing through old cupboards trying to find a rucksack to stick my gear in, as the only cam bag ive got is a huge lowe pro aw jobby lol which is far to huge to lug around london for teh day...

anyone know what camdens like these days, what was the extent of the fire damage etc?

Jason
I regularly shoot in Central London and have never had problems with the law or security people. You didn't say what type of photography you do but if you like people shots and candids then I'd recommend the South Bank, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, the Soho area, and Piccadilly Circus. You can also get some good photo ops in the main Central London parks: St James's Park, Green Park, Hyde Park, and Regent's Park. But you'd need more than one day to cover that lot.

The Portrait Gallery often has some good photo exhibitions but they often charge too much to get in. The current Vanity Fair one costs £10, or £8 for concessions. They usually have one or two free ones on at the same time, though.

And I've been to quite a few exhibitions at the Photographer's Gallery but most of them have been a waste of time IMO. Too much of the "this shot is so bad it must be good" style of photography. They've got some good stuff in the shop, though.

Anyway, have fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your trip.

I think this style of camera is perfect for this use, I reckon they are going to sell well in the future. Can't say I've ever seen someone with a P&S pulled over.

im struggling to find a small ruck sack knocking about at home, so im going on the hunt for something to pop all my gear into then im off.

lense wise i think im just going to take the 175-500,50 1.8,and the 28-80, i think the big one may have its uses for some long range candids hehehe

Have a great one, looks like you've got a rainy day but at least it'll be cooler. Don't forget to share the pics when you get home :D
