Great shots! Love the sail boats and that last one. Would have been nice with a little bit of hdr (and I'm not an hdr fan) just to bring those stained glass windows at the bottom back.

Thanks souporman :-) Yeah I know what you mean about the last one. Unfortunately they didn't allow tripods so HDR would've been tricky. Due to the light (or lack of) I was using ISO1600, but was really pleased with the lack of noise

Yea, I imagine. Churches don't seem to care much for tripods either. I think security guards and vicars/priests/ministers/etc all go to the same place for training :)

Did you fire it off in raw by chance? Could always use the same file and just drop the exposure a bit, that might work.

I was just glad they allowed photography (no flash or tripods). Yep, I always shoot in RAW. Below is better I think. I am still really impressed with the 400D ISO1600 performance:

The Lisbon shoots look cool! How long did ya go for? The ISO handling looks good there.

I never could fault the 400D for that. :)

I was there for five days. The old town is beautiful, even though it is falling down! Yep, high ISO is great. The only problem I had is that my old, crappy CPL only fits on my nifty fifty.

Bummer. I better start thinking about keeping a few filters with me. Might pick one up on the weekend. I do need a ND grad actually.

Does look like a great holiday. I need to catch some sun this year.

There are great shooting opportunities over there and you captured some really nice scenes: I like your first batch. I went over last Christmas and enjoyed it. A lot was closed due to family holidays so didn't get the full old town experience. I only PP'd a handfull of shots and then with work I forgot all about them. Did you get out to Sintra? Worth the trip but lots of walking.

Morning

The meet is planned for 8th June (this Sunday). We will be meeting up at the glorious Canary Wharf Station between 11am to 12pm at the latest.

Over the course of the day, we will be aiming to head towards Greenwich Park/Thames Barrier area and capture the sights of SE London.

You can have a look at the people confirmed coming (unless they are not on Facebook) on the Facebook group found on post #1 of this topic.

If you do wish to join us later, do give me a call on 07708751148 and just find out where the group is.

Mitesh

Ah not to worry, will be planning hopefully monthly mini meets also which around the SE area so everyone should get a chance atleast once. We will have to see how that goes.

I went to Sintra about 4 years ago, it's an amazing place. Unfortunately I didn't have my slr only an old P&S. Hmmm, perhaps I need another holiday...
