Just got my lens sorted for the RIAT airshow, EF 300 f/2.8 IS with 2x and 1.4x converters via lensesforhire.co.uk (Stuart R. is extremely helpfull btw).

I chickened out on the 500, even though it would probably have been better for the reach on a FF... I just don't fancy walking around with it at RIAT, the weight isn't too bad but maybe a bit much for all day and the length probably more of an issue with crowds.

Anyway, I've got 300/420/600 covered, plus my 24-70 and 70-200. Should be fun:)

EOS 6D, 135L, 24-105L, Mamiya RZ67pro2 and lenses

Gah. I'd love to go to an airshow.

We have the golden oldies over this weekend. All 6 of our parents meeting for the first time.

I think I might need to leave the house...

RIAT does look really tempting and renting a larger lens. *tempted*

I think Muscleflex is going, Wazza might go but I don't think he's confirmed it yet....

I can only imagine that it's going to be an awsome day out, I hope more POTN'ers will go... would be cool to meet up at an event like that. I have my ticket already for either sat or sun. and can be a taxi for up to 3 others if it's easier.

I'm going on the Sunday :) I would hire a longer lens from Stuart, but I only get back from a weeks holiday in Norway with my family on the Saturday, so have no chance to pick one up from him :( Bummer, would have liked to hire a 100-400 .... Don't suppose any of you guys could hire one on my behalf could you?

Cheers,

David :)

Sunday sounds good, could roadtrip or taxi with others. I could make a trip to Maidenhead the day before and pick one up for you.

Not 100% sure if I am going out yet.

That would be awesome if you could mate :) :) I think I might then keep the 100-400 for a week as I'm planning to go to Farnborough the next weekend too! :D

Let me know your plans closer to the time and I could drop Stuart a line to explain the situation :)

Cheers!

David :)

Hey so are people planning to go on the Sunday? I'm tempted as I'll have the 300mm with me. I wouldn't mind doing the lift sharing if people are offering - can split the fuel.

You could mail Stuart and request to pick up the lens on the way to Fairford, he offered that to me (even when I said at 5am!) but I'll be picking my lens up on the Friday now.

Wokingham, Berkshire - so quite a way from you.

Well, 32 mins drive apparently.

PM me if you'd like to borrow it over the weekend.
