Mmm probably not worth it given that I'll probably be shattered from coming back the previous day! Thanks very much for the offer though :) :)

Just got my lens sorted for the RIAT airshow, EF 300 f/2.8 IS with 2x and 1.4x converters via lensesforhire.co.uk (Stuart R. is extremely helpfull btw).

I chickened out on the 500, even though it would probably have been better for the reach on a FF... I just don't fancy walking around with it at RIAT, the weight isn't too bad but maybe a bit much for all day and the length probably more of an issue with crowds.

Anyway, I've got 300/420/600 covered, plus my 24-70 and 70-200. Should be fun:)

So you're not sure when you're going?

I've got the media pass for the weekend to Santa Pod, European Drift champs, but will probably only go on the Saturday.
Just found out today also have a R & R for work on Friday 11th (Matt, you text me about meeting, so looks like I can't do that now :()
Try and stay half sober, before an early start on Saturday 12th, and try and do air show on 13th! I'm considering hiring gear too, but I read on a website I would need to pay up front the full cost of lens if it's my first time! If I had that cash up front wouldn't I just buy one anyway :p

Do let me know since I am looking to go again to this. I might rent me a nice long lens. 300mm should do fine for the spectator side actually. Think even a 70-200 might work out.

Diff topic

One thing I forgot to mention from my trip is now many photographers either left or stopped shooting when they saw me.

1st photographer - Saw me, so I waved and she gave me a dirty look when she say my rig. She took two shots and left

2nd photographer - Got loads of girls together and shot at them with a wide angle (clever...) so I stood above him on a footstool and waited till he was done, women saw me and posed with a good shot of their cleavage. That photographer was a bit gutted but shook my hand.

3rd photographer - Nikon shooter...

4th photographer was a good sport. He was interested in my setup and kept looking and then as I chilled, got a snap of me (below). Turns out I STILL got the best photos from the night. This was from a German website. :)

What third photographer

Was so bad, they turned up, unpacked their body, mounted flash, and then undid the body cap since they didnt have a lens mounted. Rummaged through his bag, looked up and saw me. He carried on looking and turns out, he did not have a lens with him. Zipped his bag and left.

So back to my question. What third photographer ^_^
