I would love a 5D for landscape work, and just use my main 17-40L lens, or even get a 16-35II one day. New Zealand Photography Tours

Each has their strengths in features/cost. If you want faster fps than a 5D, go up to the 1D Mk III or down to the 40D. Weather-sealing - it'll always be the 1D series - it's one of the selling points. It wouldn't surprise me if the 5D either continues being made in it's current spec, or just gets phased out as the xxD and 1D ranges close over the gaps. Well I can think of the 1Ds for everything the 5D can do just a matching price tag. I suppose I can only rationalise it so much. Cannot change the world.
