Last time I went to the IOW the whole world and his wife was using film cameras - and don't say were they 'Box Brownies'. It was a nice trip to the Needles Battery though - the bus trip was a bit scarey - especially when it started to back up over the cliffe to get round the bend.

Anyway - I pressed the button and got myself the 70-200 f2.8L IS USM today - I ain't had time to play with it in anger yet though.

Was there a planned trip to the White Cliffes at Dover?

Oooh a new toy, err lens to play with, err use! :D Enjoy it!!

I think there was a meet planned to visit Dover tomorrow

https://photography-on-the.net …ghlight=dover#post5768614

Although I haven't seen much arranging going on so I would assume it's not going ahead ... I would like to have another meet soon, either Dover or maybe Kew Gardens :)

Cheers,

David

Hi Adam
Welcome to the SE Forum
Please note - Your grandad has only let you borrow that camera. But he thinks when the 50D becomes available he might just let you keep it.

Evening all, just got back from the movies, saw The Incredible Hulk. Pretty cool and way better than the first.

Ray, congrats on the new lens. :) I need one myself BUT need to pick up the 24-70L first. :(

Welcome all new members, put your feet up and send your lenses to me for quality control.

Morning all!

Big hello to the new members of the thread

Took my new 300mm for a test run on the way back home today. Probably need to work on my technique with this lens as it got pretty heavy after a while! Heres some of Richmond park, I'll probably head back one evening next week when the light is better.
