Hmmm. I cant find an 'East England' topic anywhere. Either i'm blind or there isnt one.
Mind if i settle in here?

Sounds fair to me. Price of admission though is one nice picture of where you live :)

Hi Lads
Done myself a rather long/lots of pixel panorama made up of 14 shots - I've tried all sorts of reduction but can only it down from 300MB to 1.8MB - you guess - its lost a lot of definition but because of its size it still keeps getting itself rejected by the forum - any ideas or shall I forget the idea?

No, don't downsize it too much.

Forget displaying the picture here (it's likely to be lots wider than 1024px anyhow).

Just post a link to it instead (and then it can be any size you like).

OK Pete - thanks - I had come to that conclusion. And it was only 16,000 x 2500 pixels.

File size reduction was simply killing it off.

Thanks MaDProFF - my webspace is all used up for other things and I may need to buy more space. Any idea what max file sizes are emailable?

Yup, that's what I did. Though I did make a "thumbnail" version of it with the long edge at 1024px so I could post the images here as links to the full sized ones.

My full sized images were quite a bit smaller than 1.8MB though, but I was happy to reduce the size so I wasn't scrolling forever :)

A easy way would be to get a http://www.fileden.com (external link) account - 1Gb of free storage. I used to use an account there before I got my own webspace.

You could try a hosting site like Imageshack (external link) - you can upload it there and post a thumbnail link to it here

Thanks All

I might try my Digital vault on the BT site. I'm off out now - being escorted to BlueWater - not allowed to call in at Jessops (spent too much money with them lately) and I won't be taking pictures of babies in prams either - I might just snap a few security guards in compromising poses though.
I will also not be thinking evil or anti-government thoughts in case the 'thought police' get me.

2 shots from last nite, pretty crap in all, as the light was bad, just funny shots,

Shame really the 120-300 certainly focuses a little slower in poorer light :(

1st. Shot, How not to catch a Ball, hence he dropped it.

2nd shot, a Mate, Title,, "The Ferengis have Landed"

Got to say pretty pleased with this shot though, No Crop aswell, so he was pretty close

Hand held 120-300 @ 132mm f2.8 1/250 1600 ISO wish the focus was a little more on the eye though than the Nose
