With that wing shape I'm sure you meant the Victor ;)

Looks like quite a big bird.

Either way it's not on finals, gear and flaps are up.

Happy New year Ramesh,

Darren (mellowd) and myself went to see the fireworks. Nothing amazing, had better shots from the night before... About to put them on my blog

Happy New Year Warren. The smoke around the London Eye looked quite dense on TV so probably not a decent opportunity for any fantastic shots anyway.

This weekend looks good for some dry days, loads of rain on the way next week though.

I checked out your blog Warren and your fireworks shots look pretty good actually. I like your attempt at the London Eye zoom effect too, the tunnel effect on the eye looks cool.

Question for people - which would you say is the better airshow... the one at Farnborough or the Fairford one. If people are interested, it might even be worth organising an airshow meet for the summer.

Knowing me, I'll probably be at both :p

BUT I need to fix my 120-300 :( :(

Maybe buy the 300-800 or hire one.

I was tempted by the 300 2.8 when I was in B&H over the hols but I just couldn't bite the bullet (plus the misses was next to me throughout).

I remember your shots from Eastbourne... did you happen to be eating at a resturant with the balcony or was it a planned vantage point?

I might try some shots out this weekend. See what I can come up with on my trip out. I might go pick up a monopod also if I get some time. Looks like 8°C with sunny intervals according to BBC weather.

Not too sure. I might try Sunday if I get up late tomorrow. Chance of rain but I think that might be more of a challenge. I try to make the most of freetime since im back at work now :(

Just counting down the days until we get nice long light afternoons.

Yeah but the only problem with that is the time you have to get up (or not go to bed) to get the sunrises.

Im normally up at 6am for work. I tend to drive past Richmond Hill about 8ish and about Oct/Nov time, the sunrises are stunning. I kept kicking myself for not stopping in those areas.

I dont mind what the conditions are like now, Ill still enjoy shooting. :)
