Pete- nice shots- was that with a 300mm f2.8 or f4.

Scuff- bit too fast shutter I think. For Spits, I think I shoot at 320/s

Unfortunately its the 300mm f4....waiting for someone I know to go to the US so I can save £900 on UK prices.

Looks like that is a sweet prime - great 'dog fight' shot lol! Sadly my glass expenditure is limited and even then the SO gets to say something ;)

PS Re your Avatar ~ Snow Leopard ~ did you see that great program shown a couple of nights ago and repeated last night. They are stunningly beautiful creatures, almost magical

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

I've seen a couple of 300mm f2.8 on Kerso @ £2500/2600, similar prices to Hong Kong eBay shops, but if a friend can get it for £2000 @ B&H, its a big saving over warehouseexpress @ £2900 and Kerso.

Is that Kerso's eBay price, because he gives a discount if you buy off of eBay. Probs not £500 though. I tried ;)

Yes, you missed a crackingly good program IMO.

But here http://search.bbc.co.uk …=%2F&scope=all&go=toolbar (external link) if you click on the link in the right hand 'block' titled "Capturing the Snow Leopard" you get a flavour.

Also the BBC have it on their iPlayer here http://www.bbc.co.uk …arch&version_pid=b008mc98 (external link)

I've been really impressed with the 300mm f4 IS, especially as I got it for about £720 with discounts and rebates, would love the f2.8 though.

Was that the programme with the remote activated camera that caught the mother and cub, remember seeing that, some amazing footage.

Not sure of the chronology of the program but I recall one from a while back.

This one 'seemed' new to me & yes there was footage of a mother & cub but appeared to be 'live' camera work not remote controlled. Do look at the iPlayer and see if it is the one you think it is?

:)

Interesting! I dislike being tied to downloading and installing anything unless I am in need of it. But I tried playing the 'program' and it runs OK - using Win2k here.

For some reason the intellectuals in the boardrooms of all the TV channels who offer an online prescence haven't heard of Macs
