I remember when it was called a Wankel engine after the inventor, oh how that went down without a giggle at school:)

It actually is still called that, amongst other things. as the car goes, well great car, uses way too much petrol now :(,, and could do with a little more low/mid range grunt

Photographic Images on Brett Butler (external link) px500 (external link) & Flickr (external link) Some Canon Bodies , few blackish lenses, A dam heavy black one, couple dirty white ones, a 3 legged walking stick, a mono walking stick, and a bag full of rubbish

I reckon 18mpg! Ouch!

My TDI 52mpg currently and 60 when going to Scotland. A friend of mine had that Mazda and liked the car, but he explained it was very thirsty! 12 months later he replaced it. :(. I agree about the low mid range as your best option.

It is still a girls car ;).

LOL,,, shame a girl don't know how to drive it, I get more than that about 22mpg, I think it is a great car to drive a lot of dun, very comfortable, and over long distances, but the Fuel Consumption, well it is a shame and does ruin it, and spoils it when you have to think about twice before jumping in it to drive anywhere a real long way away

Anyhow, just added to my site re Tokina 10-17mm (external link), if anyone is interested, if you click the images you get a larger version

Friend of mine paid £30 at the London Camera Exchange on The Strand for a full clean, picked it up an hour later.

Thanks Anke, need a turn-around service as I'm on a trip Thursday so this would be ideal. I'll check it out.

Yeah, that's why a friend sold his. It only ever came alive after being booted into it.

Last I heard, he was looking into buying a DIY Caterham.

@MAD
you'l have to come up to brands when i do my next track day there and get some good shots of me, i find it increasingly difficult to drive and be standing inside druids with my camera lol:lol:

consider yourselves lucky on the fuel rate, the best ive ever got out of mine is around 23mpg, but on full chat on circuit we calculated it to be around 15-16mpg:rolleyes:

i have to take a couple of 10 litre jerry cans with me on most trackdays.

I second the Fixation recommendation. They are also pretty good stockists for cleaning bits and bobs

Sure let me know, got to say I really enjoyed myself, (Except Arms nearly dropping off), was a big help though with the sun coming out, so it shines into the cars on the way up to druids, love those shots with the sand behind, and the detail of the drivers inside the cars

Sounds good... I need to get back there sometime... Really want to see what the 1D II is capable of.

Re Fixation

I think they have moved a little 'down' the road and though they still have parking issues across the road is a big Tesco and if you do a bit of a shop there as well....then away you go!

:)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p
