hi all

during my annual spring clean of my hard drive i found two photoshop files.

one is 40gb and the second is 60gb.

the files are named photoshop temp 20599612236 and 18725002236.

they are located on my main drive local settings/temp files.

the question is are they safe to delete.

i've tried to open them in photoshop but they won't open.

thanks in advance

martin

I had the same problem recently. It happened when I was cropping an image and being in a rush and very tired, I mistakenly entered pixel dimensions rather than inch dimensions in the crop dialog. My PC froze and I wound up with a huge temp file which gobbled up a great portion of my drive space.

Yes, it is safe to delete these temp files. If you look at the date created for these files, you might remember what you did to create them.

You can safely delete any temp files as long as Photoshop is closed. Temp files are created on your swap disk whenever you open an image in Photoshop. They are normally removed when the image is closed but if the program terminates abrutly, (crashes) they are left behind.
