I did a search but did not find answers to this question:
Can Pocket Wizard be used to trigger Quantum T5D-R (even in manual mode)?

My line of equipments includes 20D, 4 studio strobes (flashpoint mostly + cheap radio remote trigger), Quantum T5D-R. I'd like to get the PW if they work with Qflash, otherwise I will have to go with the Quantum XFreewire for the T5D-R (which enables the e-ttl obviously).

Thanks!

Sure you can.
You can also use the cheapie Ebay triggers.
I use Elinchrom EL Skyport on all my flashes: 1 x 580EX II, 1 x 430EX, 1 x Qflash T5DR.
I also have a Qnexus adapter for those shots that are indoor such as a ballroom dance floor for a three-way lightning.

Thank you very much for the replies, kevie and louis.
It is also confirmed the email I received from Quantum tech support:

"Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you can use your Pocket Wizards just to remotely trigger your Qflash if you only use Manual Mode. Keep in mind that if you did want to use the Qflash in the Wireless Auto Fill Mode, the FreeXwires would be necessary as they actually transmit information ( ISO and f/stop that the camera is set to ) to the remote Qflash.

Thank you for choosing Quantum.
"

But I seems unable to find the wireless connector on the T5DR. There is a non-standard sync socket on the right hand side, so do I need a special adapter (to PW)?
Thanks again,
Don

You need a mini - to - household connector to connect either PW or Skyport to your QFlash. See the link below:

Or go to paramountcords.com. I am unable to access the site currently.

OK, now, any recommendations for stand, clamp/bracket to setup the remote qFlash?
I have been using the hand held strobeframe on weddings which I don't think I can put on a stand (that would be nice, wouldn't it).
Thanks.

Just want to add this information so it can be helpful for the future users.

The cord to connect PW and the T5D-R can be either Quantum # 541 sync cord, or Pocket Wizards # MH1 cord.

If you are going to get the QFlash and don't have the PW units yet, why wouldn't you consider getting the Quantum FreeXwire remote units. Not only will it allow you to operate the Qflashes remotely but you'll also retain most of your ETTL features. Cost-wise, you're talking about spending the same amount of money. Of course, there would be an extra cost ($120) for the D23wr unit which connects between the camera and the FreeXWire transmitter.

You are right about the FreeXwire. However my main consideration is to share the PWs for studio strobes so I don't have to double invest on the radio transmitters.
Thanks for your input.

But if you don't already have the PW units, you can use the FreeXwire units with your studio strobes, too. They're not just for QFlashes. Other than the ability to transmit ETTL info when the QTTL modules are used, the FreeXwire units work basically the same way as the PW units do. Might be worth looking into a little further if you haven't already invested in the PW units.

Duh, I didn't know the FreeXwire would work on the studio flashes! I should have thought about it.
Many thanks!

Would you happen to know the max Sync speed for FreeXwire is?

It's normally 1/500 for leaf shutters and 1/250 for focal plane shutters but they can be set to fast sync mode for sync speeds up to 1/1000 (leaf) and 1/500 (focal plane) but these sync speeds won't be useful unless the camera supports them, too.
